The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, has called for collaboration with the government to reposition the nation’s education sector, saying the government alone cannot shoulder responsibilities in it.

The monarch commended an Ibadan-based sociocultural group, Egbe Borokini of Ibadanland, for supporting primary education through the back-to-school initiative and stressed the need for all hands to be on deck to provide qualitative education for children at all levels.

He gave the commendation at Olubadan Palace, Oke Aremo, Ibadan, where students were empowered with school bags and exercise books.

According to the paramount ruler, the government alone cannot shoulder education responsibilities; thus, all hands must be on deck to provide qualitative education for children at all levels.

Chief Ogunwale, the monarch who spoke through the Gbonka Olubadan, said, “For our children to have a solid educational background, we must see qualitative education as a collective responsibility.

“Our children are our future leaders. Consequently, a solid education foundation should be laid down for them to compete favourably among their peers.
