Police Arrest 4 Teenagers For Alleged Rape Of Girl In Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended four teenagers over accusations bordering on criminal conspiracy and rape of an unnamed 17-year-old girl.

They suspects who are students of Government Secondary School, Sugu in Ganye local government area of the state were identified as Sikari Mathew, Corlins Cambull, both 16 years old, as well as Barnabas Simon and Ferdinand Mathew who are 17 years old respectively.

Spokesman of the Police Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, in a statement, said the suspects were arrested on November 24, 2024.

Nguroje said the state’s Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris had ordered that the teenagers be taken into custody pending the outcome of the investigation and legal advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).

He stressed that the suspects conspired and raped the 17 years old victim after she got intoxicated from beer consumption given by the suspects.

“During investigation, the suspects confessed to committing the crime by having unlawful carnal knowledge of the victim one after the other,” Nguroje added.

He expressed the concern of the police CP over the ugly incident, assuring that the law will definitely take its course at the end of investigation.

CP Morris also cautioned the public, especially parents, to cultivate the habit of close monitoring of their wards and giving timely information to police on suspected criminal activities.
