“Rotarians are the real people of God. Rotary is not a religious organization but it is a godly organization because we help others. We pull resources from seeming surplus end to the source that needs it at a time.

“Rotary partners with all organizations, including government. Yet, we are not government. This is a government school but we have come to assist government to shine the light this dilapidated structure.”

Earlier in her welcome address, President of Rotary Club of Port Harcourt GRA, Ozumonu Gudu, said before the renovation of the eight-classroom block, the club had constructed a solar-powered toilet facility for the school.

Gudu expressed the hope that no fewer than 120 pupils of the school will use the renovated classrooms in the first term of the 2022/2023 academic year.

She said: “We pride ourselves as people of action and our vision specifically explains who we are. We are the service club identified with signature projects in our communities.

“In the recent past, we have transformed learning places by providing solar-powered toilets at this same school, the Army Children School and the School of the Physically-challenged to prevent outbreak of diseases.

“As Rotarians, we increase our impact in this school by renovation this block. It is interesting to note that 120 pupils will use the renovated block in this first term.”
