An international business mogul and philanthropist, Otunba Emmanuel Fayose, has described the governor of Oyo State as a beacon of hope for good governance in the country and called on political gladiators to emulate his sterling qualities.

Fayose issued this statement on Wednesday while commending the governor: “With the strides being made by Governor Makinde in Oyo state, there is hope of a better tomorrow for Nigeria.”

According to him, the Oyo State helmsman has displayed an uncommon passion for developing the state’s infrastructure, which has undergone massive makeovers.

“I have seen for myself great strides and improvements in the infrastructure of the state, and I can say for free that the development is not just happening in Ibadan, the state capital alone; all parts of the state are being touched without the governor leaving any part out thus spreading development around,” Fayose wrote.

Apart from infrastructure, Fayose also listed security, agriculture, and some other areas where the state government has fared well under Governor Makinde’s direction.

While urging other political gladiators who have been allowed to serve the people to prioritise good governance as their creed, Fayose said, “With what I have seen or going on in Oyo State, I think the sky’s the limit for the governor in his political journey.

“For me, it won’t be out of place to call on Nigerians to consider his presidential bid come 2027. I am confident that Governor Makinde, if elected, will make his mark as a president who will serve the people effectively if given the opportunity.”
