Kazeem was docked before Magistrate Sanusi Adagun by the police on a four-count charge of unlawful sexual intercourse, threat to life, obtaining money under false pretences and theft.

The prosecutor, Inspector Reuben Solomon, informed the court that the defendant committed the offences in December 2022 at 8/10 Kola John, off Feyintola Giwa Street, Surulere, Lagos.

Solomon had also claimed that the defendant, who was hired to lay tiles in the apartment of one Damilare Gbadamosi, allegedly left his work and forced himself on his wife.

The prosecutor also informed the Magistrate that the defendant threatened to ruin the victim’s marriage if she did not send him money or willingly engage in sexual relations with him.

He further maintained that the alleged offences violated Sections 56(1) (a), 260, 280, and 314(1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The defendant’s plea was not taken, but the magistrate ordered the prosecutor to duplicate the case file and send a copy to the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice.

Magistrate Adagun had adjourned the case to December 18 for a mention after remanding the defendant in the Ikoyi facility of the Nigerian Correctional Services.
