The National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Delta State, has advised ex-militants in the state to leverage the wordings of the new national anthem to foster unity, pride and a sense of purpose in Nigeria.
The director-general of the agency, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, supported by his Delta State director, Mrs Tracy Ikolomi stated this on Tuesday in Warri, Delta State at a sensitisation workshop for repentant militants.

He said the workshop was part of the broader effort of Nigerian government to rebuild and instill national values from a young age, promote a culture of integrity, patriotism and community spirit in every citizen.

The DG, represented by the Youth Engagement Coordinator, Mohammed Wase said by imbibing the values and prayers of the new national anthem, the culture to evaluate the real Nigerian character would be achieved.

He said the new national anthem remains the sure way to balance the rights and responsibilities of every Nigerian in the democratic context of the country.

“The federal government through the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has been engaging with your developmental initiatives, efforts and activities. All these are geared towards the growth of the region.

“The National Anthem and the National Value Charter are cornerstones initiatives for our national identity project, aimed at fostering unity, pride and a shared sense of purpose among all Nigerians.”
