According to a Statista report, Nigeria’s smartphone market is projected to be worth $9.8 billion in 2024, with an annual growth rate of 6.71 percent expected between 2024 and 2029. While China dominates globally with $105.5 billion in revenue, Nigeria’s rapid market growth presents significant opportunities for emerging brands like realme.

Head of sales, realme Nigeria, Olamide Kaka, at the unveiling of the realme C61 over the weekend in Lagos, emphasized the brand’s focus on durability, innovation, and affordability. “With the C61, we are introducing a smartphone that combines ruggedness, performance, and affordability. Nigeria’s large population and dynamic youth demographic make it an exciting market for realme,” Kaka stated.

The realme C61, part of the brand’s “Champion Series,” features a Gorilla Glass screen, water-proof design, and a 5,000mAh battery with a 48-month warranty. Designed with young, tech-savvy Nigerians in mind, the device also supports gaming and multitasking capabilities, ensuring a seamless user experience. “Nigerians deserve value for their money. We are here to provide that by offering devices that last long and deliver outstanding performance,” Kaka asserted.

The smartphone company, which started operations in 2018, sees Nigeria as a pivotal market in its African expansion. With a local service center already established in Lagos and plans to expand nationwide, the company aims to provide comprehensive after-sales support for its customers.
