Kebbi State Polytechnic Dakingari (KBSPD) has concluded arrangements to start the National Certificate In Education (NCE), Computer and Remedial Courses in the 2025 academic session.
The polytechnic’s rector, Dr Abubakar Boyi Dalatu, disclosed this to newsmen in his office in Dakingari.
He said the aim of running these two important courses is to allow young girls and adult women, apart from men in the rural areas, to obtain NCE and Computer certificates, and those who have deficiencies in their O/L examinations will run for the Remedial course.
According to him, the combined courses in the NCE include; Physics/ Chemistry, Biology/Chemistry and Mathematics/Computer as well as Computer Science.
Dalatu further revealed that recently, the officials from the National Board For Technical Education (NBTE) visited the institution and approved four additional National Diploma (ND) courses, which include Dip in Library Science, Public Administration, Computer Science and Diploma in Fisheries.
“Before, we were not in the technological system, but today, this Polytechnic has opened a portal where all our admissions and other posts are done through, just like any other high institutions in the country, ” the rector said.
He commended Governor Nasir Idris for continuing to fund the institution despite the skeletal services it has rendered since its inception.
He also commended the NBTE and Tetfund for their frequent intervention in the polytechnic, which, according to him, has contributed immensely to improving learning in the institution.
