CIPM Celebrates 60th Induction Ceremony

The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management Nigeria (CIPM) recently celebrated a significant milestone with 60th Induction Ceremony, held in Lagos, Nigeria. The event drew an impressive gathering over 400 inductees, were joined by family, friends, and well-wishers, all eager to witness the beginning a transformative journey for these new of the HR community.

The ceremony commenced with an inspiring address by the president and chairman of the governing council, Ahmed Ladan Gobir. He highlighted the importance of this 60th Induction as a pivotal moment in the evolution of the CIPM welcoming the inductees into a era of professional excellence.

Gobir emphasised that the Management is not only Nigeria’s leading HR body but also a globally recognised institution that plays a crucial role in shaping the future of human resource management.

With the theme “ Organisational Agility and Resilience: Navigating Uncertainty and Adapting to new Challenges ,” Gobir’s address resonated deeply with the business climate. He articulated that the theme serves as a “survival manual for today’s business,” reminding attendees that adaptability is the key to success. “It is the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change,” he stated.

The ceremony featured a keynote address from esteemed guest speaker, Rita Olanrewaju. With over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas, consulting, and financial services, Olanrewaju shared her expertise on fostering organisational and resilience.

Her insights provided inductees and attendees with practical strategies to navigate uncertainty and sustain organizations during challenging times.

Among notable inductees was Corps Marshal Mohammed, MCIPM, of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), who was welcomed into the Full Membership grade of Institute, marking a significant in his professional journey.

They also celebrated academic excellence, with Ngozi Nwammana being recognized as the overall best graduating student. In her heartfelt valedictory speech, she reflected on the challenges of the CIPM examinations and the support she received from her family, friends, and mentors.Today, I proudly stand here, not only for myself but alongside my fellow inductees to say that we are not the same people we were a year ago, six months ago, or even three months. We have transformed into Associates of this esteemed professional body,” she noted.

Ngozi concluded her speech with an inspiring message to aspiring students, encouraging them to commit to continuous learning, self-improvement, and the pursuit of excellence.
