The 3 Division Nigerian Army through its Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH) on Operation GOLDEN PEACE, have arrested a notorious kidnap kingpin and recovered cache of ammunition at Rafiki General Area in Bassa local government area of Plateau State.

A statement issued by the Military Information Officer, OPSH, Major Samson Zhakom, said during the operation, said security agencies captured the target identified as Mohammed Musa also known as Mamman alongside his collaborator, Mallam Alhassan Samaila.

He explained that a thorough search at the hideout of the kidnap kingpin led to the recovery of 439 rounds of 7.62 mm (Special) ammunition carefully concealed in a 4-litre gallon.

The statement also added that a preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects disguised as transporters conveying the cache of ammunition to bandits in Plateau, Kaduna and Zamfara States.

OPSH also disclosed that the suspects were making useful confessions while security agencies are currently conducting follow-on operations to capture other members of the criminal syndicate as well as recover more arms and ammunition.

The statement further noted that the 3 Division/Operation SAFE HAVEN was totally committed to ensuring the security of lives and property within the Joint Operations Area in line with operational mandates of Operation GOLDEN PEACE.

He advised well-meaning members of the public to support security agencies with timely intelligence information to aid in ridding the Joint Operations Area of criminalities.
