Board members of Cross River State Traffic Management and Regulatory Agency (TRAMRA), Governor’s Office, Calabar have ordered the director-general (DG) of the agency, Mr Alfred Umoh, to step aside pending the conclusion of investigation into allegations of corruption by a special committee set up by the state government.

The board members gave the order in a petition addressed to the Cross River State Commissioner of police, CP Gyogon Grimah, made available to LEADERSHIP Sunday yesterday.

In the petition signed by three TRAMRA board members including Ubi Onen, Ernest Awor and Victor Offiong-Ita, dated December 14, 2024, they maintained that the DG cannot be under investigation and at the same time remain in office.

The petition copied the state governor, Bassey Otu, speaker of Cross River State House of Assembly (CRHA), Elvert Ayambem, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Uyo branch and 19 others.
