An educational technology company, Biuda, aims to train and equip Nigerian children with essential technology skills, laying a strong foundation for their future in the digital world. Sponsored by a Nigerian entrepreneur, Arinze Nwokolo, based in the United Kingdom, the Biuda Scholarship Programme (BSP) aims to give children a head start in the tech industry. It plans to grant over 200 children free access to computer training and foundational tech skills.

The chief marketing officer (CMO), Elijah Adesina, asserted that all children within the catchment age were welcome to register. Selections would be made, beneficiaries contacted, and modalities would be implemented for a smooth learning experience.

He further explained that the training, scheduled for January and March 2025, had already outlined the implementation phases, including registration, application review, announcement of beneficiaries, onboarding, and graduation/certification.

Mr Adesina clarified that the training would be virtual and flexible, ensuring that it would not impede the beneficiaries’ everyday academic routines but enhance their creative thinking abilities.

BSP’s chief executive officer, Mr Patrick Chukwu, explained that the programme would provide beneficiaries with hands-on learning experiences, introducing them to the basics of computing, digital literacy, and problem-solving skills essential in today’s tech-driven world.
