Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has signed into law, a bill for the creation of new emirates and chiefdoms in Adamawa State.

This legislation, which was signed on Monday, also officially recognises the Lamido Adamawa as the Chairman of the State Council of Emirs and Chiefs in the state.

The new law is expected to strengthen traditional governance and promote inclusivity across the state.

Although the details of the new emirates and chiefdoms are not immediately revealed, the development is seen to be a part of Governor Fintiri’s broader efforts to enhance governance and development in the state.

The governor had earlier signed another bill for the creation of 83 new districts in a bid to enhance administrative efficiency and reducing criminal activities in Adamawa State.
