In a move to develop the livestock sector, the Gombe State government has embarked on a comprehensive upgrade of the veterinary clinic at Tashan Dukku in the state capital to a state-of-the-art veterinary hospital.

Commissioner for Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Cooperatives, Dr Barnabas Malle, accompanied by permanent secretary Mohammed Ibrahim Jalo and project coordinator of the Gombe State Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES), Professor Usman Bello Abubakar, inspected the facility under upgrade recently where he unveiled the plan to upgrade it to a befitting facility for animals’ care.

Malle commended the state governor Inuwa Yahaya and the L-PRES Project for the laudable achievements recorded in the livestock sector.

He emphasised that the upgraded veterinary hospital aligns with the state government’s Livestock Reform Agenda adding that the development is expected to significantly improve animal health services in the state.
