The Baburawa people displayed their culture at an annual event at Snake Farm, along the Keffi- Abuja road, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The President of the association and Sarki of Baburawa, Alhaji Muhammed Baba Mai Doki, said during last weekend that the motive behind organising the annual event is to showcase Baburawa’s rich culture to their children and well-wishers.
He said the younger Baburawa learned about their culture from the event.
“They also understood themselves much better after the meeting. They also learned about charity. Food was given to the selected orphans based on the criteria,” Doki said, adding, “Delicious local food items were on display at the event venue.
When asked about the nine People given the Baburawa traditional title, he said it was in order.
Those turbaned were made up of frontline unionist Comrade Nasiru Kabir ( Santurakin Baburawa), Alhaji Bukar Bukar (Jakada) Idris Adamu (Shettima) Alhaji Isa Mustafa Biu (Garkuwa) Garka Usman (Turaki) Usman Ibrahim (Gwarzon Baburawa) Injiniya Ibrahim Biu (Wakilin Bayan Dutse)Abubakar Abdullahi (Dangaladiman Baburawa) and finally Usman Muhammed (Wakilin Shuwari).
