Oyo Assembly Jerks Up 2025 Budget By N6bn

The Oyo State House of Assembly has approved an upward review of the state’s budget from N678 billion to 684 billion.

This approval came on Wednesday after the House Committee on Finance, Appropriation, and State Economic Planning presented its report read by its Chairman, Hon. Sunkanmi Babalola representing Egbeda State Constituency.

It would be recalled that Governor Seyi Makinde on November 13, 2024 presented a budget proposal of Six hundred and Seventy-Eight billion, Eighty-Six million, Seven hundred and Sixty-Seven thousand, Three hundred and Thirty-Two naira, Eighteen kobo (N678,086,767,332.18) to the State Assembly.

The Assembly on Thursday approved the upward review to a total of N684,149,398,399.06 at the plenary presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin.

The Speaker explained that a major reason for the upward review was to accommodate emerging priorities and critical projects that will drive economic growth, improve infrastructure, and enhance the overall well-being of the citizens.
