Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has pledged to complete the Iwo-Osogbo road immediately.
The governor disclosed this at the Iwo Day celebration held in Iwo over the weekend. He said all the impediments to the early completion of the road project have now been cleared.
According to him, a fast-tracked implementation plan is now in place, and the contractor handling the project will fully mobilise to the site in January 2025.
Adeleke, represented at the event by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, assured that his government would complete and commission the road within the lifespan of his administration.
The governor disclosed the approval of a dual carriageway for Iwo in line with his administration’s commitment to equity and fairness, adding that the dualisation of the road, Adeke -Odori road, will be done in two phases.
“The first phase will run from Odoori to the Post Office with a branching to the front of the palace from the Roundabout. The second phase will run from the Post Office to Adeeke Junction.
“I hereby direct the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure to host community engagement events with stakeholders on the proposed highway. Additionally, Adeleke said that the Ministry is further directed to mobilise to the site from January to commence the dualisation project.
