Special Assistant on Political Affairs to Kaduna State governor Uba Sani, Rachael Averik, has donated funds for the reconstruction of a worn-out sleepers bridge connecting Sanga and Jama’a local government areas in the state.

The bridge, spanning the Kogum River, was originally constructed by the Nigerian Railway Corporation in the 1920s. Decades of use have left the wooden sleepers in a deteriorated state, threatening the vital link between the two communities.

A statement issued by Rachael Averik media team explained that the donation followed an appeal for assistance to repair the bridge.

According to the statement, the reconstruction is expected to facilitate agricultural and other socio-economic activities in the region.

“Hon. Averik immediately responded to the appeal and made a significant donation to kick-start the repairs,” the statement reads.

“Her contribution was warmly received by the committee, who expressed their gratitude with prayers and blessings.”

The bridge is considered essential for the livelihood of the two communities, and its restoration is expected to enhance connectivity and boost local economic activities.

The statement said, “May God continue to bless and uplift Jakadiyan Arak, the CEO and Founder of the Rachael Averik Foundation. “
