Gov Aliyu Swears In New Commissioners, SAs, Perm Secs

Governor of Sokoto State,  Ahmed Aliyu, has sworn in seven new commissioners, nine permanent secretaries, and eight special advisers.

This is to replace those who resigned to become chairmen of their local government councils, inject vibrancy and ensure continuity in the state’s executive council.

Governor Aliyu at the ceremony, emphasised the importance of utilising their wealth of experience to serve the people with integrity and diligence.

He reiterated his administration’s zero-tolerance policy for corruption, urging appointees to lead by example and uphold high standards of transparency and accountability.

Governor Aliyu stressed, “My administration is committed to ensuring everyone benefits equitably from the state’s resources, where good governance and development remain the central focus of all appointees.

“The inclusion of these professionals is expected to enhance government efficiency and foster stronger dialogue between the government and the public. This is vital for earning the people’s trust and confidence.”

The commissioners appointed are Abba Muhammad Mualledi, Professor Isa Muhammad Maishanu, Professor Attahiru Ahmed Sifawa, Dr Faruku Umar Abubakar, Dr Abubakar Mohammed Zayyana, and Engineer Mustapha Mohammed.

The special advisers include Almu Tsoho Kwandawa, Abubakar Ahmed Sokoto, Dr Isa Mua’zu, Dr Muhammad Bello Marnona, Umar Ahmadu, Dr Muhammad Umar Yabo and Salisu Lawali Gandi.

The permanent secretaries are Ado Ibrahim Sabon Birni, Muhammad Abubakar Umar Yabo, Mustapha Abubakar Alkali, Ibrahim Muhammad K, Habibu Isa, Bello Sodangi, Bashar Muhammad Maigari, Lawali Sada, and Muhammad Bello Yusuf.
