The minister stated this in Yola on Friday when he visited the Lamido’s palace.
He emphasised that the ministry’s priority is to provide good breeds of cattle that are economically viable, similar to those found in developed countries.

Maiha also announced plans to revive the cattle immunisation programme to combat cattle diseases.
He said the newly established ministry’s plans include comprehensive reforms to “unbundle” the sector, strengthen infrastructure and meet Nigeria’s growing demand for animal proteins.”

The minister noted that the ministry has gathered extensive data on livestock infrastructure, including grazing reserves, cattle routes and water resources, adding that such data would guide efforts to improve facilities and make them more attractive to herders and reduce the need for constant migration.
The Lamido Adamawa, Dr Barkindo Aliyu Mustafa, thanked the minister for the visit and assured him of the Adamawa Emirate’s support.
