The wife of Kogi Governor Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo donated relief items and cash to about 200 pregnant women, nursing mothers, and patients at Kogi State Specialist Hospital (KSSH) Lokoja on Tuesday.

Mrs Ododo, in the company of the wife of Kogi Assembly Speaker Hajia Zainab Umar and the wife of the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Princess Kareemat Abdullahi, was received by the management of KSSH, led by Prof. Adagiri Isa Yahaya.

Addressing the women, Mrs Ododo appreciated them for supporting her husband by voting overwhelmingly for him during the last governorship election in the state.

She noted that her visit to the hospital was a promise fulfilled and a testament to her commitment to touching the lives of women and children, especially the vulnerable in society.

She stressed that the gesture aimed to alleviate the financial and medical challenges faced by the vulnerable groups and put smiles on their faces.

The governor’s wife commended the hospital staff and management for taking good and adequate care of the pregnant women, nursing mothers, and patients.

Mrs Ododo promised to extend the gesture to other hospitals across the state and touch the lives of vulnerable women and children at the grassroots.

“I am here to support our pregnant women, nursing mothers and vulnerable patients in this hospital, and I am urging you to continue to support and pray for my husband for him to succeed,” she said.

The governor’s wife advised the women to respect their husbands, continually support and pray for them, and have good relationships with their children.

The Kogi First Lady further reaffirmed the commitment and dedication of her office to improving the lives of women and children and vulnerable and underprivileged communities in the state.

Earlier, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of KSSH, Prof Adagiri Isa Yahaya, commended the Kogi First Lady for occasionally contacting patients at the hospital.

The CMD also expressed gratitude to the Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Ododo, for his unwavering support of the hospital and the state’s people, especially the vulnerable.
