12 Kebbi Traders Detained In Benin Republic Released

Twelve traders of Dole-Kaina of Dandi local government area in Kebbi State who were detained since last year by the authorities of Benin Republic have been released.

Their release followed the intervention of Governor Nasir Idris, who visited the Benin Republic to secure their release. The Benin Republic immediately released them.

However, the detainees were handed over to the governor at a ceremony held in Dole-Kaina when he visited Dandi local government during a thank-you visit to the area.

The detainees LEADERSHIP gathered, who are traders from Dole-Kaina under Dandi local government and have been imprisoned since last year, were released following the governor’s personal intervention.
