The Institute of Certified Corporate Governance and Leadership Strategists (ICCGLS), has attributed the success of private and public organisations to corporate governance and strategic leadership.

At an event tagged ‘Africa Leadership Strategists Award Ceremony’ held in Abuja yesterday, President, Nigeria chapter and Africa region,(ICCGLS),Dr Enape Ayishetu said, “Corporate governance is very strategic in every successful organization,as it helps to cultivate a culture of integrity that leads to positive great performance and a sustainable business generally.

“Corporate governance and strategic leadership has become the centrality of success in both private and public organizations globally, because the success or failure of any organization rests on its leadership.”

She noted that the purpose of corporate governance is to help build an environment of trust, transparency and accountability necessary for fostering long-term investment, financial stability and business integrity that supports stronger growth and more inclusive societies.

Also speaking at the event Auditor General for FCT Area Council,Kudirat Abdul-hamid, explained that corporate governance ensures that the right decisions are taken, implemented and enforced for the benefit of private and public organizations.
