LEADERSHIP gathered that the killing of the deceased identified as one of the notorious cult members in the town, might not be unconnected with the recent cult clash that claimed lives in the area.

A source told our correspondent, “I think this is just the continuation of the last cult clash where four people died.”

Confirming the incident, Ondo State Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Funmilayo Odunlami- Omisanya said the 40-year-old deceased was a notorious cultist who had been on the police wanted list.

Odunlami-Omisanya said, “The police at A Div Owo today (Sunday) received a distress call that someone was shot at LA Igbanasa area of Owo by 2 masked men. On getting to the scene, the police discovered that the deceased was a cultist who participated in the #EndSARS Protest, attacked Uso Division and stole an AK-47 and bulletproof belonging to the Police, he also participated in the killing of one Adedeji Rafiu aka PA,”
