Maikalangu also expressed gratitude to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, for his crucial role in bringing the aspirations of FCT residents to fruition.

He said that the establishment of the Federal Polytechnic in Gwarinpa would not have been possible without the unwavering efforts of Wike and that his tireless dedication to enhancing the FCT has made it a city to admire globally.

The council chairman described the approval of the Federal Polytechnic as a significant milestone that aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu’s administration.

“This is a dream come true, and it will greatly contribute to the progress of FCT residents,” he said.

Maikalangu also emphasised that the new institution will bring immense joy to the Indigenous people of the FCT, who have been experiencing the benefits of democracy since President Tinubu and Wike’s administration commenced.

He highlighted a historic moment for the FCT, recalling that Hon. Zaphaniah Jisalo, a local representative, was appointed as the Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, marking a landmark achievement as the first native of the FCT to serve in the Federal Executive Council.

“I am truly grateful for the generosity of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Since taking office, the indigenous people of the FCT have been enjoying various benefits of democracy, something previously unseen for over 33 years.

“Mr President made a significant start by appointing Hon. Zaphaniah Jisalo as the Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, a first that we have not witnessed since the creation of the FCT,” he said.

He emphasised that the recent approval for the Federal Polytechnic in an area known for educational development is a significant step forward and a testament to the administration’s commitment to inclusivity in democracy.

“We deeply appreciate Mr President for appointing Barrister Nyesom Wike as our FCT Minister. His tireless impact has positively transformed the lives of our people and the entire FCT.

“The evidence of his numerous development projects is clear; the roads are now more accessible due to the roadworks he has initiated across the territory.

“We in AMAC will continue to offer our strong support to Mr President and the  Minister in their endeavours. We are thankful for the benefits we have already received and look forward to more positive interventions from Mr President and the Honourable Minister, who have our full confidence,” he said.
