JUSUN Suspends Over 3 Weeks Industrial Action In Abia

The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Abia State branch has suspended its over three weeks industrial action which began on January 2.

This followed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the state government and leaders of the branch in Umuahia, the state capital, last weekend.

According to the MoU, all differences in the implementation of the Consolidated Judicial Salary Structure, which was the bone of contention had been resolved.

A statement by the commissioner for Information, Okey Kanu, sequel to the deal, said the government had commenced arrangements for the payment.

“Government, therefore, expects that the ongoing strike be called off immediately to pave the way for the reopening of our courts,” the statement added.

Consequent upon this, LEADERSHIP gathered, leaders of the branch were expected to convene a congress as soon as possible to call off the action officially.
