The exercise, which began on November 25, 2024, and was set to end on January 31, 2025, will now end on the 1st of April, 2025.

Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Land and Physical Planning, Muhammad Musbahu Yahuza, who announced the extension, commended the public for their overwhelming response to the recertification process.

However, he acknowledged concerns regarding the initial timeframe and assured property owners that the extension would provide ample opportunity to complete the process.

All land and property owners who have yet to recertify their ownership documents have been urged to take advantage of the extension.

The permanent secretary further warned that noncompliance with the exercise within the new date could result in the forfeiture of property rights under existing regulations.

The recertification is being conducted at the Kano State Geographic Information System (KANGIS) office, and property owners are advised to comply within the new timeframe to avoid legal consequences.
