The Command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa disclosed the incident on his official Facebook page.

Kiyawa said the unrest broke out after the death of a young man identified as Yusuf Aminu, a resident of Sheka Babban Layi, who was allegedly involved in robbery and gang-related activities in the area.

Reports indicate that the deceased was a member of a notorious group called “Yan Shida,” infamous for terrorising Sheka by indulging in robbery and violent activities.

Residents reportedly captured the suspect, broke one of his legs, and severely injured others, leading to the death of Layi.
