Kebbi State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Abubakar Ahmed BK, has described those criticising Governor Nasir Idris’ trips as ignorant of what the state gained whenever the governor travelled out of the state.

He said there was a lot of potential for the state to benefit from the governor’s trips, most especially the governor’s recent award of renovation of the 87-kilometre Koko-Mahuta-Dabai road, which was abandoned by the federal government.

Addressing a news conference at Government House Press Centre in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday evening, Ahmed BK listed other benefits, such as the construction of a befitting centre for rearing cattle for their milk and an international market at the Tsamiya border under Bagudo local government area of the state.

“We welcome concrete criticism, but we could not accept it if it is centred on personal interests or gain, ” Ahmed BK said.

“Anytime you see His Excellency went out, he went to pursue a very important project or programme that will benefit the good people of Kebbi State,” he added.

He urged critics, particularly the opposition, to wait and see what the state will become in the next two years when Kebbi State will record tremendous achievements across all sectors.
