Popular On Air Personality (OAP), Chinedu Abi Emmanuel, popularly called Nedu Wazobia, has announced that he would be stepping down from the ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast show following allegations against him by social media critic, Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan (VDM).

LEADERSHIP recalls that a Big Brother Naija reality TV star DeeOne had alleged during one of the episodes of the podcast show that VeryDarkMan was a gay.

Verydarkman, in reaction to the allegation, openly stated that the arrowhead of the Podcast show Nedu Wazobia had offered to buy him a car if he accepted to make an appearance on the show, emphasising that there was “nothing honest about the bunch.”

VeryDarkMan also suggested that Nedu had prompted DeeOne into saying negative things against him on the show to score a point.

The controversial critic also revealed some secrets about guests that Nedu allegedly told him in confidence, including the names of women the OAP had allegedly slept with.

Reacting to VDM’s allegations, in a statement released on Friday morning via his Instagram handle, Nedu expressed that his decision to foster honest conversation and openly tackle difficult topics through the podcast show had attracted growing scrutiny, antagonism, and unfounded accusations against him, hence the need to quit in his own interest and that of the show.

He explained that his exit was necessary for his well-being, family, and the integrity of the podcast.

“The past week has brought a lot into perspective for me. Hosting The Honest Bunch Podcast has been an incredible journey—one built on open conversations, bold perspectives, and the willingness to tackle difficult topics. But with that responsibility has come an overwhelming level of scrutiny, antagonism, and unfounded accusations that have now begun to take a personal toll,” he stated.

“In light of recent events, I have made the difficult decision to step away from the podcast. This is not a decision I take lightly, but one I believe is necessary—for my peace of mind, for my family, and for the integrity of the show itself. I have always been committed to honest conversations, but when those conversations lead to relentless attacks and misrepresentation, it becomes clear that stepping back is the best path forward.

“I sincerely hope this decision brings an end to the negativity surrounding my name and allows The Honest Bunch Podcast to continue thriving. I remain committed to fostering dialogue in ways that encourage meaningful engagement and growth, and I look forward to new opportunities that align with that vision.”

“I wish the show continued success and thank everyone who has supported me throughout this journey,” the statement concluded.
