Robbers Raid University Of Ibadan Female Hostel

Robbers early yesterday invaded Awolowo Hall at the University of Ibadan, Oyo State where they dispossessed students of their valuables worth thousands of naira.

The stolen items included assorted mobile telephone handsets, jewelry, clothing and other valuables.

According to reports, the students were also harassed during the raid, which lasted for several hours.

A source within the university said the security team was alerted by the screams of the students and quickly responded to the incident.

Some of the robbers were arrested and handed over to the police at Sango Police Station, while a manhunt was launched for the remaining suspects who are on the run.

The institution’s public relations officer, Mrs. Joke Akinpelu, confirmed the incident.
