The chairman of Igbo traditional rulers in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Eze Uche Egenti, has called on Igbos to use the 2023 general elections to ensure that the presidency goes to the South Eastern part of Nigeria.

The monarch who made the call at the 2022 Igbo Day organised by the Ohanaeze Ndigbo FCT chapter also stressed the need for N’digbo to rediscover their socio-political and economic ingenuity.

Egenti who is also the national vice president of the Inter-Tribal Traditional Rulers Association of Nigeria lamented the disregard for their language and culture, saying people that neglect their culture and heritage are doomed, and urged them to invest at home and build strong geopolitical leverage.

“The election of 2023 is at the corner, so Ndigbo should put their acts together as we legitimately insisted that power should shift to Igbo land and the South East in particular come 2023.

“As we mark today Igbo day, let us think of our future in Nigeria and Nigeria’s future, let us recollect how Dr. M. Okpara turned the Igbo land of the old eastern region into the fastest growing economy in the developing world in the 60’s, which can be replicated today,” he said.
