The Kebbi State government has extended the Nigeria for Women project to 21 local government areas of the state. Initially, three local government areas; Maiyama, Ngski and Argungu were the benefiting areas of the program.
This was made known by the secretary to the state government, Alhaji Babale Umar Yauri, in a statement he made available to newsmen yesterday in Birnin Kebbi.
He also disclosed that the state is one of the six states implementing the project which is a World Bank, federal government and state government support program designed to improve the welfare of women.
He said due to the success of the program, the governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, had approved additional N450 million for the extension to all the local government areas in the state.
Babale noted that the fund would enable the state expand the project to the remaining local government areas.
