Omowunmi Aloba, widow of late Nigerian music star Mohbad, has said she found out about her late husband’s burial on the Internet.

Mohbad died on 12 September 2023, and less than 24 hours after his tragic passing, his father, Joseph Aloba, buried him in Ikorodu, Lagos State.

Omowunmi said she wasn’t informed that her husband was going to be buried barely 24 hours after his demise.

She said it took the intervention of family and friends to prevent her father-in-law from burying the singer the night he died.

She said, “There’s a nurse involved in this case. He [Mohbad] reacted to an injection. The night my husband died, my father-in-law came to the house and the nurse narrated everything that happened to him. My husband’s manager wanted to get the nurse arrested but my father-in-law asked us to let the nurse go.

“A lot of people begged my father-in-law not to burry my late husband’s body that night but he insisted. In fact, even the day they wanted to bury him, he didn’t inform me. I got to know online.”

Omowunmi also claimed that her father-in-law and a certain woman attempted to kidnap her son, Liam, on the day of her husband’s burial.

“It still feels like my husband is still alive. He is in Yaba morgue. He has not been buried. So sad. He has He has been ‘pieced’ twice,” she added.

Mohbad’s body was exhumed on 21 September for an autopsy due to controversies surrounding his death.

The results of the autopsy are still pending but the father of the deceased, Joseph Aloba, has previously stated that the body of the singer would only be reburied when the controversies surrounding his death are resolved.
