The Chairman of Akamkpa local government area of Cross River State, Felix Akposi, has issued a 7-day ultimatum to a haulage firm whose cement loaded truck got trapped on a wooden bridge along New Ndebiji in Akamkpa.

The truck was stuck on the bridge linking New Ndebiji, Akor and Ekang.

The chairman charged the haulage firm and cement consignment owners to fix the broken bridge without delay to avoid halting business activity in the affected communities.

Reacting to the ultimatum, Special Adviser to the chairman on Peace and Security, Mr. Sylvester Ntui, engaged the haulage company and cement consignment owners and immediately towed the stuck truck from the improvised bridge.

Subsequently, the Special Adviser handed over the truck to the local youth leader pending the full restoration of the bridge.
