While briefing newsmen on Monday in Kano, the command spokesperson, SC Ibrahim Abdullahi, said the duo were arrested by division personnel in Tarauni and brought to the state headquarters for interrogation.

According to him, the suspects storm ministries and government agencies, intimidating top officials to extort money.

“Their luck ran out when they attempted to intimidate a top management staff of a renowned television station in the state, demanding cash in exchange for their services.”

He, however, said that upon investigation, the suspects confessed to the crime and would be charged to court for impersonation of public servants, conspiracy, intimidation, and extortion.

Meanwhile, SC Abdullahi noted that a fake identity card and an inner wear bearing the NSCDC logo were recovered from them.
