An Abuja-based businessman, Timothy Onwughai, has written a petition to the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, over alleged unlawful encroachment, intimidation, and abuse of police power by a former police officer, Friday Abuh.

Onwughai, the President of Stainless Steel Importers, Sellers, Fabrication Association of Nigeria, in the petition by his legal counsels, Ekhato & Co; Barristers & Solicitors, said Abuh, alongside Nasiru Adeshina Fazazee, Managing Director of NASKAXE Investment & Property Limited, had allegedly taken over his property.

He prayed the IGP to intervene in a timely manner and help nip these overzealous acts of illegality being carried out by the said former police officer, Fazazee, and other unknown persons, allowing him to enjoy his peaceful possession of the land and also preventing anarchy from happening.

“Our client informed us, and we verily believed him as follows: –

He is the lawful owner of a parcel of land located in Sabon Lugbe layout, along the Airport Road, within the Abuja Municipal Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory.

“That on Saturday, 15th February 2025, our client got information from a neighbour of his, who owns land in the same axis, that some unknown persons in significant numbers invaded his land and were carrying on in a suspicious manner inconsistent with his ownership of the land in question.

– one Mr. FRIDAY A. ABUH, and from the look of the situation on the ground, it appeared as if the said Amb. (Dr.) Nasiru Adeshina Fazazee was in the process of marketing the and to a potential buyer.

“That Engr. Dele Onwughai, in response to the comment by Amb. (Dr.) Nasiru Adeshina Fazazee said that he was on the land at the behest of the owner, Mr FRIDAY A. ABUH, who insisted that the land was our client’s property, Mr Timothy Onwughai. He also strongly stated that the land in question was “NOT FOR SALE” and that Mr Peter A. Abuh was not known to him or our client as the owner of the land, and thereafter, Amb insisted. (Dr.) Nasiru Adeshina Fazazee and the unknown persons should leave the vicinity.

“That day later, on Tuesday, 18th February 2025, our client’s representative, Engr. Our client instructed Dele Onwughai to mobilise some artisans and
