We’re Concerned About Nigerians Mental Wellbeing – Institute

The president of the Nigerian-American Institute for Mental Health (NAIMAH), Azubuike Aliche has said the institute feels concerned about Nigerians mental and general wellbeing

Aliche stated this when he spoke to LEADERSHIP after delivering cartons of mental healthcare related medications to the Abia State government in Umuahia, the state capital.

Represented by a member of the association, Justice Nwogu, Aliche related that the association aligns itself with the ongoing transformation in the health sector of the state.

Earlier, while responding after taking delivery of the medications, the state commissioner for Health, Enoch Ogbonnaya said mental healthcare is critical to every society and lauded the association for the gesture.

Speaking through the permanent secretary of the ministry, Ifenyiwa Uma-Kalu, he noted that the ministry will partner the association to enlighten residents of the state on mental health services and psycho-education.

Ogbonnaya further said to demonstrate the importance the Alex Otti-led administration places on the health sector, it allocated 15 percent of the 2025 Budget to the health sector.
