Dangote Group has extended its full payment to the Lagos State government for onward compensation to affected house owners in the ongoing Lagos Calabar expressway construction, the minister of Works, David Umahi said.
This, it is doing, under the federal government Tax credit. The minister on Friday at the inspection of the second phase axis in Lekki free trade area stated that all affected house owners would be settled before any demolition will take place.
Umahi explained that the 54 kilometers service lane was another addition to the ongoing project which would be commissioned before May 29 ahead of the second year anniversary of the president Bola Tinubu administration.
He pointed out that the government is satisfied with the pace of the work and applauded the speed at which the contractor is handling the road.
Umahi maintained that going for the concrete pavement instead of asphalt laying was because of the durability and maintenance of the road.
Speaking further, he said, Dangote has paid N10 billion to the Lagos State government to sort out the issue of compensations to the affected structure owners along the route of construction.
