A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State and chairman of the North East Cooperative Stakeholders Forum, Abdullahi Jalo, has expressed satisfaction with the performance of the national chairman of the party, Abdullahi Ganduje, and the extension of his tenure by the National Executive Committee of the party.

Speaking with journalists yesterday in Gombe on the extension of Ganduje’s tenure, he said his leadership has yielded significant victories for the APC including wins in Ekiti, Osun and Ondo governorship elections.

He however emphasised the need for Ganduje and President Bola Tinubu to address the alleged sidelining of the northeast region in appointments and projects.

The APC chieftain cited the allocation of N1 trillion for the region out of the N14 trillion earmarked in the federal budget for road repairs across the federation, despite the region having three APC-governed states.

He also pointed out that the north west secured more appointments under Ganduje’s leadership.

“So far, Ganduje has scored a landmark in getting some states. We have seen what happened in Ekiti, Osun and Ogun. With these efforts, honestly, I am satisfied with his performance. My only quarrel with his leadership is that the northeast has been left behind,” Jalo lamented.

He urged Ganduje and President Tinubu to make necessary adjustments to address the concerns of the northeast region.
