The Spokesman for the Senate, Yemi Adaramodu, has stated that there are currently no complaints of sexual harassment on the floor of the Senate.

According to Adaramodu, no individual has lodged any complaint regarding issues of sexual harassment against any principal officer.

During plenary, Senator Natasha Akpoti -Uduaghan violated Senate rules by disregarding an order from the Senate President, who ruled her out of order.

However, the Kogi Central Senator remained resolute, insisting that she would not be silenced and that she did not fear the Senate President.

In a television interview, Natasha alleged that the Senate President had been obstructing her because she rejected his sexual advances.

When asked whether the Senate would investigate such allegations, Adaramodu stated that no complaints had been received from anyone.

He remarked, “There is no allegation before the Senate. There is none from anyone, for that matter. We do not entertain allegations based solely on television broadcasts or social media.”

He added, “Nobody has lodged any allegation with anyone in the Senate. The only matter currently at hand is a breach of the Standing Orders, which has been referred to the Senate Committee on Ethics, Code of Conduct, and Public Petitions. I do not believe there are any other petitions or complaints before the committee.”

Adaramodu continued, “Unless someone brings up a new issue, it will be dealt with accordingly. For now, there is nothing other than the matter we have referred to the committee.

We may hear many things from outside, but within the Senate, there are no allegations against anyone, no complaints from anyone, and no cases have been presented to us.”
