Nigeria is poised to host the 13th ECOWAS African Wrestling Tournament in Abuja from 6th to 8th March 2025, coinciding with the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
In partnership with the National Sports Commission (NSC), the prestigious event will take place at the Velodrome in Package A of the MKO Abiola National Stadium. It is set to attract elite wrestling talent from across the West African subregion, offering a platform for competitors to showcase their skills.
NSC Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko and Director General Hon. Bukola Olopade expressed their enthusiasm for Nigeria’s role as host, promising a welcoming and world-class experience for participants and spectators alike.
The tournament is anticipated to foster stronger sports ties within the region while highlighting Nigeria’s growing reputation as a centre for international sporting events.
