The former Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, and executive director of the Nigeria Export and Import Bank (NEXIM), Stella Okotete, have assured All Progressive Congress, (APC) leaders in Delta State that they will adopt a more participatory approach to decision-making and give every stakeholder a voice.

At an interactive stakeholders’ meeting in Patani local government area of the state, attended by party members, stakeholders and leaders from across the state, Omo-Agege said the meeting was aimed at reviewing the party’s performance in the last elections, identifying mistakes and correcting them ahead of the 2027 elections.

According to him, the renewed focus on inclusivity aimed to harness diverse perspectives, accommodate all interests and empower stakeholders to contribute to the party’s future direction.

“I don’t claim to have a monopoly on good ideas. It’s through conversations like these that we can come up with better solutions to move our party and state forward.

“We’ve made mistakes, but what’s important is that we’re engaging in stakeholder discussions. This is an opportunity for us to exchange ideas, learn from each other, and refine our strategies. We must work together to build a stronger, more united party that truly represents the interests of all Deltans.”

Omo-Agege thanked APC members and voters in Patani for their unwavering support despite facing intimidations and hostility from opposing forces.

Okotete, on her part, dismissed claims of internal crisis within the party in Delta State, stating that it remains strong and united.

Speaking as a guest in TVC’s Sunday Politics, Okotete declared that Omo-Agege remains a respected leader in the party in the state, contrary to speculations that he has been sidelined following his absence at the visit of some Delta APC leaders to President Bola Tinubu, last week.

“I don’t think it was deliberate. Omo-Agege is from my local government, and I can tell you that we don’t even have a crisis within Ughelli North local Government as we speak.

“He is highly respected as one of our leaders, and we are all working together. Yes, there may be one or two disagreements regarding the reconciliation recommendations, but that’s normal in politics,” she said.
