Senator Lalong, Others Congratulate New Northern CAN Chairman Rev Hayab

More accolades and congratulatory messages have continued to pour in for the newly elected chairman of the 19 Northern Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the FCT, Rev. Dr John Joseph Hayab. The latest came from Senator Simon Bako Lalong, who represents the Plateau South Senatorial district at the National Assembly.

In a letter personally signed by Senator Lalong and addressed to the new Northern CAN Chairman and a copy obtained by LEADERSHIP Friday, the Senator said,  “I received with immense joy and gladness the news of your election as the chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) 19 Northern States.

“Your well-deserved election is a testimony of your commitment to the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and a vindication of your years of labour in the Lord‘s vineyard.

„Indeed, you have earned, through the grace of God, a place of pride within the body of Christ in the Northern Region, Nigeria and the world at large by your sacrifices, labour and hard work in propagating the gospel of salvation and touching humanity positively“.

Senator Lalong, in the letter, further said that with Rev. Hayab‘s election as the CAN Chairman of the 19 Northern States, he has no doubt that Rev. Hayab will bring to bear his capacity to work with all the Christian blocks in protecting the interests of the Christian Community and also enhancing peaceful coexistence, respect, and collaboration with other faiths.

 

„May your tenure usher in more love, prosperity and deepening of the word of God in the region to the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. I shall continue to pray for you and offer support in whatever way the Lord grants me the opportunity.

„On behalf of my family, the people of Plateau South Senatorial District, I offer my sincere felicitations,“ he concluded.

 

In yet another congratulatory message, Engr. Joseph A. Ciroma (Hasken Southern Kaduna), popularly known as „Mai Transformer, Mai Ruwa“, also extended his warmest congratulations to Rev.  Hayap on his election.

 

He said Rev. Hayap‘s remarkable leadership qualities, dedication, and commitment to the betterment of the Christian community have earned him this esteemed position. He added that his tireless efforts to promote peace, unity, and understanding among different faith groups are truly commendable.

 

Engr. Ciroma noted that Rev. Hayap‘s commitments as former chairman of CAN Kaduna State and country director of the Global Peace Foundation Nigeria demonstrate exceptional vision and expertise in fostering interfaith dialogue and cooperation.

 

He posited that Rev. Hayab‘s experience and wisdom will be invaluable assets in his new role as Northern CAN Chairman.

 

Engr. Ciroma wished Rev.  Hayab every success in his new position and looks forward to his continued contributions to the growth and development of the Christian community in Northern Nigeria.

 

Similarly, the Northern Minority Alliance for Balanced Leadership has also extended its warmest congratulations to Rev. Hayab, saying his election is well-deserved and remarkable. They are thrilled to see him take on this significant leadership role.

 

In their letter signed by the national coordinator, Hon. M Marcus, they said, „Your dedication to promoting peace, understanding, and inclusive governance has not gone unnoticed. We believe your leadership will be instrumental in fostering greater collaboration and mutual respect among different faith communities in Northern Nigeria.

 

„As you embark on this new journey, we offer our full support and cooperation. We look forward to working closely with you to promote balanced leadership, peaceful coexistence, and sustainable development in Northern Nigeria,“ he assured while wishing him wisdom, strength, and success in his new role.
