A youth group known as ‘Arewa Youth Advocate for Peace and Unity Initiative’ has distributed food items to over 500 less privileged women drawn from 11 local government areas of Gombe State.

Speaking during the launch of the distribution in Kumo town of Akko local government, Muhammad Bose, the group’s coordinator, explained that the initiative aims to help the less privileged, especially those who are observing fasting.

According to him, items distributed included rice, sugar, and noodles. He lauded Abdulsalam Ahmed, a director at the North East Development Commission (NEDC), for supporting the group in providing the assistance.

He added that the objective of the group is to foster peace and unity among the diverse people in the state and empower the youth.

Responding, one of the beneficiaries, Adama Umar from Akko local government, expressed gratitude to the group for the gesture.
