With 1.1 billion women worldwide still excluded from formal financial systems, QNET, a global wellness and lifestyle direct-selling firm, is ramping up efforts to close the gap through entrepreneurship.

Aligned with International Women’s Day 2025 and its theme, “Accelerate Action,” QNET is advocating for direct selling as a key tool for women’s financial independence.

According to the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) 2024 report, 40 percent of women globally remain unbanked, making them 20 percent less likely than men to have a bank account and 17 percent less likely to access formal credit. This exclusion, affecting 1.1 billion women, is not just a socio-economic challenge but a barrier to sustainable growth.

Recognizing this challenge, QNET is championing direct selling as an accessible pathway for women to earn income, develop financial skills, and grow independent businesses. The company provides structured mentorship, training, and resources to help women succeed in entrepreneurship.

Regional general manager, QNET Sub-Saharan Africa, Biram Fall, in a press statement, released on Friday, said, “Gender equality is a fundamental human right and a crucial step toward a sustainable world,” said Biram Fall, Regional General Manager, QNET Sub-Saharan Africa. “At QNET, we are committed to equipping women with business skills, mentorship, and financial opportunities, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to their families and communities.”

A cornerstone of QNET’s empowerment strategy is FinGreen, its financial literacy program launched in Nigeria in 2022. Designed to instill sound financial habits, the initiative targets women, youth, and emerging entrepreneurs in vulnerable communities, reinforcing the company’s commitment to sustainable development.

Akeem Ajisafe, Managing Director of Transblue Nigeria Limited, QNET’s local partner, emphasized the company’s mission: “True empowerment comes from providing women with the right opportunities to succeed. Through our initiatives, we aim to bridge the gender gap in Nigeria and across Africa.”

By focusing on financial inclusion and skill development, QNET continues to support women in building sustainable businesses and achieving economic independence. As the global push for gender equality gains momentum, the firm remains dedicated to fostering a future where women thrive as leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs.
