Rice Farmers Urged To Adopt Modern Techniques

Rice farmers in Bauchi State have been urged to embrace modern farming techniques to boost productivity and ensure a bumper harvest.

The programme manager, Bauchi State Agricultural Development Programme (BSADP), Malam Ya’u Muhammad made the call during a sensitisation programme for rice farmers in Adamami community of Shira local government area of the state.

He commended the rice farmers for their dedication which has contributed significantly to agricultural development in the area.

He highlighted the importance of applying the knowledge gained from the workshop and maintaining close ties with agricultural extension officers for further support.

He said BSADP aims to equip farmers with advanced skills in rice and vegetable cultivation, hence they brought together local farmers eager to improve their yields.

He assured that the agency would continue to educate farmers on key practices for successful rice farming including farmland preparation, selecting high-quality seed varieties and consulting experts to mitigate losses.
