The Handball Federation of Nigeria has announced that the National U-12 and U-15 Handball Championship will hold this month in Umuahia, Abia State.

According to a statement from the Secretary-General of HFN, Monica Otumala, the championship will be held from March 18 to 25 with the arrival date and screening to hold within the first two days while the matches will begin on March 20.

Otumala also emphasised on the importance of the screening which will hold on March 19 to determine those who are truly U-12 and U-15 to play in the championship, stating that there will be sanction for teams, academies or clubs for any discrepancy.

“All participating states/academies are therefore urged to ensure that players to be presented for the exercise are within the right age.
Any erring state/ academy will be sanctioned appropriately.

“Only players who pass the screening session would be allowed to participate in the championship,” Otumala said.
