A non-profit organisation, the Spirit of Edo Foundation, has lauded the appointment of Dr. Loretta Oduware Ogboro-Okor by Governor Monday Okpebholo as the Director-General of the Edo State Diaspora Agency (ESDA).

The group led by its Founder, Comrade Harrison Ogiemwanre, said the new head of the ESDA was a clear case of a round peg in a round hole, describing her as a “distinguished professional, a visionary leader, and a true daughter of Edo State whose unwavering commitment to excellence and humanitarian service has been evident in her numerous contributions to society.”

Ogiemwanre highlighted her credentials as a United Kingdom-trained Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, adding that Ogboro-Okor as “a Medical Simulator Expert, a prolific writer, and an internationally recognized goodwill ambassador” and commended her leadership as the lead of the Edo Diaspora Working Group and the Edo State Focus Group Worldwide, as well as her role as a member of the Steering Committee for the establishment of ESDA.

“Her pioneering efforts in Diaspora engagement have demonstrated her dedication to the progress of Edo people across the globe. It is therefore not surprising that she has been entrusted with this important responsibility,” the statement read.

Expressing confidence in her ability to deliver, the foundation affirmed that Ogboro-Okor’s “wealth of experience, strong leadership skills, and deep-rooted passion for the Edo people will translate into impactful policies and initiatives that will strengthen the bond between Edo indigenes at home and abroad.
