The International Women’s Day (IWD) celebration organised by Inner Wheel Club District 911 received personal care from  Nature’s Gentle Touch, which was on ground to treat the attendees.

The event was used to show appreciation, respect, love, and care for women because of their impact on humanity and the larger society.

Renowned speakers at the event admonished women to cherish and support one another to accelerate action towards achieving their full potential in all spheres of life.

The ceremony took place at the Rotary Centre, Government Reserved Area (GR), Ikeja in Lagos.

One of the speakers and former special adviser to the Lagos State governor on works and infrastructure, Aramide Adeyoye, said any society that fails to champion the course of women is short-changing itself, stressing that women must possess competence, capacity, character and integrity to stand out and triumph in a competitive men’s world.

She applauded women’s significant representations and achievements in the academia and banking sector, but decried their under representation in the fintech and political spaces.
